Real Wedding ~ Liz and Craig

Charleston couple Liz and Craig knew as soon as they got engaged that they wanted to wed in their local city and showcase the beautiful Lowcountry off to their family and friends from out of town. With the help of event designer Megan of Luke Wilson Special Events their Lowcountry Charleston wedding was perfectly designed to reflect the spectacular Southern city and our good friend, Juliet Elizabeth was on hand to capture every moment. Liz wore a pretty strapless gown with striped ribbon detailing paired with a romantic cathedral length veil and gardenia blossom in her hair. Her bridesmaids wore short dresses in cornflower blue and carried bouquets of a variety of hydrangea blossoms, while Craig and his groomsmen wore khaki suits, white button downs and cornflower and apple plaid ties. Legare Waring House played venue to the intimate ceremony that was framed by a gorgeous avenue of live oak trees and perfectly complimented the Charleston theme.

The celebration continued in a tented reception situated on the Legare Waring House property in an event palette of white, khaki, blue and green. Guest tables were covered in crisp white linens with burlap runners that ran the length of the tables. Large hurricane vases with candles decorated the tabletops along with small bottled vessels and the family's silver filled with delicate flowers. Green glasses and blue goblets were used to add a pop of color to the mostly neutral decor, while a variety of patterned ribbon was used in the event palette to tie around each set of silverware. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ceiling of the tent and Ball mason jars were used as votives around the space and payed homage to Ball State University where the couple first met. Cru Catering served up a delicious Southern menu of oyster shooters, shrimp on grit cakes, seared duck skewers, braised lamb and their famous mac and cheese.
