So yesterday The Loveliest Day did a feature on our wedding specifically on my hairipiece since I won it through a giveaway on her blog. I was so thrilled to win since I'd been looking for a hairpiece and still hadn't found one the month before the wedding. It was so much fun to work with Dana from Retr0lux to come up with a custom piece just for me. Actually I felt bad for Dana b/c I sent her dozens of different style ideas but she did a good job of keeping me on task and narrowing the vision.
I had seen a piece months before that I loved but didn't know how well it would work on me and with my dress.

This was the inspiration image we started with
Dana actually came up with something very similar for me but I think she knew that it might be a stretch for me so she constructed the piece in a way that the side flower could be used alone. It was a good thing she did b/c after fooling around with the whole piece the morning of the wedding we landed on just the flower attachment. I LOVE this look but it just didn't work on me. It might have been different if it wasn't a destination wedding and I could have done a trial run or two with my hairdresser but it was tough with meeting her the day of the wedding. And can I say....she was amazing! I think my biggest concern of the whole wedding was how my hair would turn out. I'm really particular about my hair and was scared to have it done by someone on my wedding day in a small resort town like Hood River. So for any Hood River bride out there - rest assured...Jen at Salon Visio is awesome! And she came through at the last minute and did my makeup as well since my good friend who was going to do my makeup was stuck in North Carolina b/c her flight was cancelled (I'm just glad she eventually made it for the wedding).
I loved my hair - thanks Jen!
I love this picture....she did some cool twist thing with my hair
And there is that lovely hairpiece by Retr0lux
She incorporated the lavender and green accents of our wedding and a piece of the lace from my dress
