With a colorful event palette and the addition of a few rock n' roll elements there was a lot to love about Kelly and Aaron's Charlotte DIY wedding photographed by The Beautiful Mess. The event was designed in a palette of purples ranging from a deep violet to pale lavender paired with black and gray accents and punctuated with colorful blooms. In most weddings the fashion is normally all about the ladies, but for this wedding the men stood out in black vests and trousers with gray button downs paired with black ties and pocket watches with their chains hanging from their vest. Aaron wore black on black and added a suit jacket and colorful lavender and purple argyle socks that created the perfect shoe picture with his bride wearing gray pumps with pleated ruffle heel. The reception at The Gathering was filled with great DIY details from the minute you walked into the door. A chain curtain held images of Kelly and Aaron throughout the years of their relationship and greeted guests as they entered the space. In lieu of the traditional guest book, the couple used a black guitar for guests to sign their names on and note cards hung from clothespins displaying well wishes for the newly married couple. The couple's three tier confection was a major design element of the room with banners in the event palette hung behind it featuring pennants in lavender, gray and black & white patterned print. Don't miss a single detail of this DIY rock n' roll inspired wedding, including the cool custom guitar pick favors.
