Lulie and Harrison grew up together in Columbus, GA. They went to school together and knew each other practically all their lives. When they got married on a pretty day in May, they stuck to their roots and exchanged vows in the church they'd attended together since they were little. The talented Jessica Purvis photographed their gorgeous event, designed to be a whimsical forest-like wonderland in a palette based on a range of purple and lavender hues. Lulie wore a pretty knee-length lace party dress for pictures with her groom, but on her wedding day she opted for an ethereal cap-sleeved gown with an empire waist, a lace overlay and wide satin bands at the waist and hem. Her bridesmaids wore long one-shouldered chiffon gowns by Carol Hannah in deep lavender and wisteria with empire waists and floral detailing. Harrison and his groomsmen wore classic black suits and bowties. The reception was held at the Rivermill Event Centre by the banks of the Chattahoochee River, where the venue was transformed with the help of the amazing floral team at Albright's Florist.
A variety of natural elements combined with lush florals, glass baubles, drapery and twinkling white lights created an enchanting atmosphere. The hallway entrance was lined with trees wrapped in lights and lanterns were hung overhead. Guest tables were covered in soft khaki linens and set with a variety of centerpieces, from tall leafy tree-like arrangements made with lilies, tulips, roses, hydrangea and trailing amaranthus, to low arrangements of tulips, lilacs and roses in glass bowls. Thick spongy moss and succulents added a deep-in-the-forest feel, while place cards at each place setting had small feathers attached to them, hinting at the presence of wild birds. Sections of tree trunks displayed glass bottles of candies wrapped with lavender and green raffia and tied with gift tags featuring Lulie and Harrison's monogram logo. The dessert table featured sugared pears and a variety of cakes made by The Cake Lady in a palette of white, purple and yellow. The dance floor was surrounded by billowing floor-to-ceiling white drapery, with a massive organic arrangement of branches, tulips, lilies, amaranthus and glass baubles hung overhead at its center. Dramatic violet lighting created a soft glow at spaced intervals, while gobo lighting illuminated the dancefloor with bright, dahlia-like patterns. Guests danced and celebrated all night until Lulie and Harrison made their exit beneath a shower of sparklers.
