Lovely Color Combo

I'm in love with the vivid red and dark charcoal grey... this may have to be made into a board.

    Shoe Love
As many of our dear bloggers will know I'm a bit of a shoe addict. Shoe's were, according to my Mum, my first passion, followed closely by friends, boys and parties. I had to share with you these most gorgeous Christian Louboutin's. OH MY! Love comes in many shapes and forms and for me, these are it! Although on the very pricey side they would be worth every cent. Imagine your bridesmaids sashaying down the aisle in these numbers. No doubt you would have girls eyeing them off... and not in the kind way. Available online from www.net-a-porter.com.

Tuesday Engagement Inspiration #8- Get Baking!

Inspiration #53- Spanish Style Red and Gold

Non Fresh Floral Bouquets

I was in VV Rouleaux in Sloane Square the other day where they have a large selection of fabric roses including these Giant organza and velvet rose corsages in a range of colours.

They really are large and I thought they could make a beautiful alternative to having a fresh flower bouquet, which you could hold or use it to customise your wedding dress by attaching to the waist with a matching coloured sash. You’ll also have it long after the wedding is over and be able to use it again. They also have smaller ones which you could use in clusters for your bridesmaids.

Just next door is Basia Zarzycka, an Aladdin’s cave of amazing bespoke vintage pieces where they have these amazing beaded bouquets. This would truly be an heirloom piece and although at prices starting from £895, probably out of most brides’ price range.

Another option, great if you’re having a wedding abroad, especially by the sea is this handmade feather, bead and shell bouquet from Etsy.

And here are some great non floral bouquets from the blogosphere:

Button bouquet from Etsy shop RBK Productions Via Style Me Pretty

Truly inspired here, the bride made these bouquets herself.

Inspiration #52- Mismatched Blue & Green

I adore mismatched bridesmaids! The bride who requested this board wants to do a green and blue color scheme with mismatched bridesmaids and different bouquets for each. I showed a few different ideas for mismatched bridesmaids to give some options.

Romantic Song Lyrics

We couldn’t resist posting the lyrics to this song by Irving Berlin, who wrote it as wedding gift to his wife in 1925, it’s called ‘Always’

    I’ll be loving you always
With a love that’s true always.
    When the things you’ve planned
    Need a helping hand,
    I will understand always.

    Always.

Days may not be fair always,
That’s when I’ll be there always.
    Not for just an hour,
    Not for just a day,
    Not for just a year,
    But always.

Ill be loving you, oh always
With a love that’s true always.
    When the things you’ve planned
    Need a helping hand,
    I will understand always.

    Always.

Days may not be fair always,
That’s when Ill be there always.
    Not for just an hour,
    Not for just a day,
    Not for just a year,
    But always.

    Not for just an hour,
    Not for just a day,
    Not for just a year,
    But always.

Fun, Affordable DIY Centerpieces

Some people are so crafty!  I would never imagine making a centerpiece out of egg cartons and vintage buttons.  After seeing it done though, I'm in love!  Now I would love to make these for my own wedding. These centerpieces are affordable, customizable (you can make the colors any shade of the rainbow to match your color scheme perfectly!) and you're recycling on top of it!  See more pictures and the tutorial at Intimate Weddings (the link will take you directly to the tutorial).

Please Vote!!

Kelley at My Island Wedding held an inspiration board contest for fellow bloggers and now it's time to vote!  So I'd like to ask all of my lovely readers to please stop by her blog and vote for my entries.  They are: #10- A Few of Our Favorite Things Picnic, #11- Popp(y)ed Pink (both can be seen here) and #17- Nautical (which you can see here).

Thanks girls!  Hope your weekend is wonderful!  I have some awesome posts for you this week including pictures from my sisters fitting and the cutest birdcage veil that I found (which may be my first wedding purchase).

    Girls Guide
I have just found out about Girls' Guide to the World which is a bit like trip advisor but for stylish women who want to know where to shop, eat, drink, sleep, pamper, and play. Girls’ Guide has done all the research for you and provides unbiased and insightful tips for women, by women with high expectations and a craving for fashionably experiencing the world. It features over 3,000 venues in over 100 hand-picked cities around the globe. Girls’ Guide to the World was thought up by 28 year old Carey Schuster, an American interior designer living and working in Sydney. Schuster has a craving for outstanding design, cuisine, service, entertainment, fashion, and architecture, especially when she’s travelling. “When I choose to spend the money and time to travel, I don’t want to be disappointed. I want to eat at the tasty restaurant off of Main Street that the locals are trying to keep secret. I want to stay at the hippest hotels, which doesn’t always mean the most publicized or most expensive. And when I hit the shops, I want to know about up and coming local designers and where to find their labels. That’s where Girls’ Guide delivers. There is no better advice than a discerning woman’s first hand account.”

    Behr Hug
Ever since I discovered Jennifer Behr earlier this year I've been a little bit in love and it seems I'm not the only one with a love affair for JB. Kim Kardashian, Amy Adams, Helena Christensen, Nicole Richie and Natalie Portman have all adorned their pretty lil' faces with these pretty-as-a-picture pieces. I opted for one of her super sparkly pieces to adorn our gorgeous model, Angela, on the cover of our new winter issue and how amazing did it look?!!! Jennifer very kindly sent me a sneak peak of her Autumn/Winter 2009 collection. Pretty? Understatement! I've shared with you some of my favourites. How do you choose?! If you want to view them for yourself (I'm sure they'll be up very soon!) visit www.jenniferbehr.com and Jennifer is delighted to ship to anyone in Australia.

Favorite Photo Friday #8- Rain, rain, go away....

It feels like it has rained here every day for the past month (which is mostly true). But you might as well be cute in the rain I guess!  This is definitely a good example of making the rain work for you :]

Orange and Blue How Do You Do?
One of my favourite colour combinations for spring/summer 2010 is orange and pale aqua blue. Orange is emerging as one of the hottest colours for the warmer months and teemed with this delightful blue it really is a force to be reckoned with. I think it would make such a colourful, fun palette for either a wedding or engagement party. This Oscar de la Renta dress is just gorgeous. I know it's extravagant but imagine your bridesmaids all lined up in this creation. Simply delicious! Blue cakes aren't always that appealing, however a cake in a super soft shade can look lovely and oh so pretty. Flowers are a great and easy way to incorporate the orange palette as there's so much variety. I suggest scouring your flower markets for great ideas. I think this palette for spring/summer 2010 is going to mighty popular!

    Fantastic Felt
I adore these lovely felt corsages from Etsy by AAliciaAccessories. The simplicity and elegance of these beautiful pieces would be a perfect adornment for a winter wedding outfit - many of them would even look divine used as table decorations, winding down the centre of the table.

Inspiration #50- Tea Party in the Park

Wow, I can't believe that I've already made fifty inspiration boards! I am having so much fun writing this blog and making these boards (and hopefully inspiring some brides too). I feel like my board making skills are improving too!

    On to the board...

I love tea parties! This board is full of bright colors and of course, a lot of tea elements. I'd like to think its vintage chic. What do you think?

Theme Thursday #8- Somewhere over the rainbow...

Can I just say how much I LOVE this idea? I can't take full credit for it though, its another request. The bride e-mailed me and said that she loved the Israel Kamakawiwoʻole version of "Somewhere over the Rainbow" so much that she wanted that to be her wedding theme. This board has subtle hints of Wizard of Oz and rainbows without going overboard. I think this will be a lovely wedding and can't wait to see pictures! Details I'm loving: sparkly shoes for the flower girl (love the red sparkly chucks!), rainbow of different bouquets for the bridesmaids (this was the brides suggestion), I really like the vintage looking hot air balloon postcard (maybe for table numbers?), big rainbow lollipops (favors?). Have I mentioned that I LOVE this board?

opps... I forgot to include this image in my board (and it may be a little over the top.) I thought this might be another cute detail though-- a yellow aisle runner, because how do you get to Oz without the yellow brick road?

    Super Silica
There is one thing brides want (just about as much as the perfect wedding dress) and that's flawless skin. You'll change your diet, stop drinking alcohol, do more exercise and undertake a ridiculous beauty plan all in the hope of having a crystal clear glow. I'm always intrigued by models beauty regimes and recommendations and after reading an interview with Australian model Abbey Lee Kershaw, who said she swore by Silica, I was in. I headed straight to my local pharmacy and low and behold, there it was. I am now nearly through my second bottle (I opted Planet Health Qsilica in liquid form) and cannot speak highly enough of it. My complexion is clear and even, redness has been well and truly reduced, my nails and cuticles are the healthiest they've ever been, my hair breakages have been reduced to the bare minimum, my hair is growing faster and my skin in general is softer, smoother and responds even better to moisturiser. Could it honestly get any better?! I've now converted a few girlfriends after they pointed out my skin was looking fab. The best ever proof that something is working wonders! Planet Health's Qsilica Gel is a convenient form of mineral silica, which is important for the health of connective tissue, skin, hair, nails, and joint cartilage. Silica also plays a key role in the production of collagen in the skin and can also help to support and maintain strong bones and teeth by playing a role in the metabolism of calcium in the body. Each bottle of gel lasts between 6-8 weeks (depending on how much you take) and will honestly make a huge difference. So, I have Abbey Lee Kershaw to thank now! Visit www.qsilica.com.au to find out more.

    500ml bottle $29.95, 50 capsules $29.95 and 100 capsules $49.90

Alternative Wednesdays #5- Flutterby!

Maybe you don't like fresh flowers? Or they are just plain too expensive? Or maybe you are just looking for something a bit unique? I really heart these butterfly "bouquets," quite lovely!

Inspiration #49- Elegant Summer Wedding

A new request board! This bride wants to have an elegant black and white wedding in the summer. To give the long black bridesmaids dresses a little more of a summery feel, she thought of incorporating bright pink flowers. I think that works wonderfully! She also wants to incorporate lace and pearls.

    Man of the Match
    Menswear Spring/Summer 2010

I am a lover of gorgeous suits. A well tailored suit made of beautiful fabric can transform a man. It's more imporant than ever, on your wedding day, to have 'the' suit. It's likely a man will wear the suit he wears on his wedding day many times throughout his life (if he keeps tabs on his waist), whether it be a casual garden or a black tie suit.
I'm always a fan of the menswear spring/summer 2010 collections. The suits are phenominal and the men wearing the suits are even better! The embellished dinner jackets at Dolce & Gabbana were amazing. Sequins on a man never looked so sexy! I loved the bright oranges used at Trussardi, Emporio Armani and Bottega Veneta. Colour is a brave choice but it can wow. My standout suit was the black and white creation by Moschino. I don't honestly think a man could look any more suave if he tried. A brilliant take on the ever popular dinner suit. I also should point out Etro adorned their lapels with the most gorgeous fabric flower buttonholes. Made from the fabrics from the shirt, ties and bowties I thought they were a fab idea if wearing a real flower isn't really your style. Definitely a great way to add your own flair.
