Inspired by: Colors of Patagonia

I have a 2012 bride that reached out to me that will be getting married right here in Hood River next summer.  One of my favorite things is helping newly engaged brides-to-be articulate their vision for their big day and then carrying it out in an inspiration board to work from.   Most people have some idea in their head what they want but can't really figure out how to put it all together.  This bride told me that she and her fiance spent some time hiking in Patagonia and were blown away by the turquoise and green color palette of the landscape and the water but didn't know if that would work well for a wedding color scheme.

Well...that sent me on a journey for the perfect combination of color inspired by the vibrant hues of the Patagonia landscape. Honestly, it reminds me a lot of the ever changing colors right here in the Gorge - from spring through winter you can find all of these beautiful colors right in our backyard reflecting off the mountain peaks and rivers and lakes.

Here are some beautiful photos from Patagonia:

    I'm thinking something like this:

This is going to be fun...inspiration board coming next!  This bride has so many great ideas all inspired by past experiences and travel - it's going to make for a truly unique and personal wedding.

Our Big Fat Greek Wedding Anniversary

Today is our ten year wedding anniversary! It is the most glorious sunny day in London so we went out for a lovely lunch at our local CafĂ© Rouge where we sat outside in the sun and plan on having a relaxing evening at home.  We’ve been taking it easy today and making the most of the sun but I thought I’d share a few photos from our wedding day.

We had a traditional Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony at St Sophia’s Cathedral in Bayswater followed by dinner and lots of dancing at The Carlton Tower on Cadogan Square. It really was an amazing day that was just the beginning of a wonderful marriage.

I designed my 3 piece wedding dress and my parents who owned a dress factory at the time made it for me. I also had great fun making my tiara and earrings.

Now bearing in mind we got married 10 years ago I don’t have many digital images of our wedding so I took some photos of our wedding album by our fabulous photographers Storybook Weddings.
