Remembering Loved Ones

I apologize for my lack of posting this week I actually did have quite a bit planned but I'll have to pick it up next week, I've been a bit pre-occupied and quite busy.  Last week during my "Wish I was Here" Wednesdays  post I talked about my thoughts and my heart being in another place - with my friend who was fighting a very tough battle with cancer.  Unfortunately she has lost her battle and today I will be flying back to Daytona to celebrate the life of this lovely woman.

Always with a smile and her "Queenie" wave - we'll miss you Babs!

Me and Roni - one of our many fun nights together

Roni was someone that could light up a room or your heart with her smile, laugh and hilariously funny wit.  She was a dear friend who watched me "grow up" during my years in Daytona and was always there whether I needed an ear, a laugh or a hug.  Our very last morning in Daytona before we moved, Keith and I ran into Roni on the street going to buy a wig and had the pleasure of helping her pick out a gorgeous red wig - one I told her matched her personality quite well.  We were able to reminisce about our fun times in Daytona together and when I hugged her goodbye I was hoping it would not be for the last time.  She told me later that day our meeting was pure serendipity - and now I truly believe it was.  I love you Roni and will miss you dearly.

    Our last day in Daytona

My thoughts and prayers today are with Roni's amazingly devoted and loving husband Bob who has been by her side through this entire fight and with all her family and friends. We are all so blessed to have had this special woman in our lives.
