I can't believe today is the first day this week I have had a chance to sit down and do a blog post. I guess it has been the typical holiday rat race trying to finish up all the end-of-year type stuff and scramble to finish all your last minute holiday shopping and projects. One thing we did get done FINALLY is our wedding thank you's and we mailed them in time to get them out for Christmas. We created a wedding photo slideshow and a video of our cross country road trip and burned it onto a DVD. We've already received so many nice notes about it...I'm so glad everyone liked it but even more glad they are out the door!
Keith and I are spending our "first" Christmas together, just the two of us, in our new home in Hood River, OR. While I will definitely miss being with family and friends on Christmas Day (especially since I've NEVER missed one Christmas at home in IL in 32 years) I'm excited for a quiet Christmas just us - cooking together, cuddling next to the fireplace and creating our own holiday traditions. One new tradition - snowboarding on Christmas morning! We are getting ready to hit the mountain and take advance of the fresh snow and uncrowded trails.
On Thursday night we threw our first party since we've been here and were so excited to finally get the opportunity to entertain that we went a little nuts with the food, drinks and decorations. It must have been a good party b/c the last guests left at 2AM and four of them ended up staying over!
From our home to yours - Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
