Monday Funday #9- Fly Away With Me...

Real Wedding ~ Molly and Robert

Most brides would see rain on the day of their outdoor wedding as a major wedding nightmare, whereas Molly owner of Bella Bridesmaid in Tampa, FL saw it as an excuse for a playful wedding day accessory. Not to let the rain dampen her day, Molly and her bridesmaids slipped into some color coordinated rain boots, the perfect rainy day wedding accessory that made us fall in love with Molly and Robert's wedding at the farm at Old Edwards Inn and Spa photographed by Parker J. Pfister. Molly wore a stunning Anne Barge lace A-line gown with fitted corset and soft floral lace trim that she accentuated with a Champagne sash fashioned with a glittering brooch to cinch in the waist. Her bridesmaids wore pretty flamingo pink silk dupioni dresses from Lula Kate with feminine ruffle collar silhouette. Situated outside on the enchanting grounds of the Old Edwards Inn and Spa a tent provided the reception venue designed in a palette of pinks from fuchsia to rose petal accented with natural elements in deep chocolate, green, ivory and antique silver. A dark wood riddling wine rack adorned with leafy green garland and small bouquets of green antique hydrangea in each hole with place card tags greeted guests as they entered the space. With a beautifully draped all white tent dripping with chandeliers over the dance floor, Molly added a candy pink sash to her gown and danced the night away with family and friends. The night ended with a showering flower petal send off and a quick kiss in the back of the couple's getaway car where "Just Married," was scrolled across the window.

A Quick Tip: Stationery

Not only can the look of your stationery help to set the tone of the wedding day and let your guests know what kind of day to expect but the wording you use can too. For a traditional, formal wedding you may want to ‘Request the honour of your presence’ or if you’re having a more casual and informal day, you could ask them to ‘Come join the party as we celebrate our love!’

Details I Love...

Take the Plunge

UK based lingerie label Panache, specialising in D+ cup sizes, is now availble to Australian women through the website Big Girls. Not to be confused with plus sized lingerie, the Tiffany Bridal Collection starts at a size 6 and goes up to a 16 with cup sizes ranging from D's to G's.

The Tiffany Bridal A/W 2011 collection comprises a plunge bra, strapless bra, basque and matching coordinates. This style features luxurious Italian stretch satin with beautiful subtle darting detail. Available in a range of shapes and styles - this is the perfect lingerie for any special occasion available in black or ivory. Signature to the collection is the waspie and briefs which contour the figure into a gorgeous hourglass shape. The figure fixing properties of these pieces make them perfect to wear beneath a wedding dress and they look sexy to boot! Visit www.biggirls.com.au for all the collection info.

Inspiration #155- Bright Aqua and Yellow Backyard Wedding

This is my absolute favorite color palette!  When I get married aqua and yellow will definitely be involved in the color scheme.  The different shaped aqua vases are lovely for a centerpiece and I really adore the idea of the groom wearing a plaid shirt.

*Don't forget to enter the contest!  Tomorrow is the last day to enter, the winner will be announced on Tuesday so remember to check back to see if you've won!!!

Inspiration #154- Lovely Pastels

This was another requested palette from the contest (I'm slowly working through them along with the requested boards)!  Someone suggested a palette of greens, pinks and butter yellow so I went with pastels.  I especially love the colorful petal cones and the silhouette paper suite.

Favorite Photo Friday #19- Love Letters

Happy Friday!  I love beach pictures in the winter, especially since NJ is covered in snow!  It's such a cute idea to bring some letters to your engagement shoot to spell out things like love, thank you, a favorite phrase or even your initials.

Inspiration #153- Pretty Outdoor Hydrangea Wedding

Vintage bicycles and hydrangeas are a few elements the bride who requested this board wanted to add to her summer wedding.  She also wants to use a color palette of shades of purple and light greens, which is a great palette for an outdoor summer (or spring) wedding!  Her fiance is a competitive cyclist so the bicycles are a really nice way to incorporate her husband-to-be, I especially love the chalkboard seating chart with the hand drawn bike at the top.

Real Wedding ~ Molly and Bucky

Molly and Bucky found inspiration in their venue for their fall wedding, incorporating beautiful natural and rustic details into their wedding day at the farm at Old Edwards Inn and Spa, photographed by Kellie Kano Photography. The event was designed in a palette of mostly white, ivory, and peridot paired with natural earthy elements in khaki, brown and moss. Molly wore a sleek ivory gown with soft sweetheart neckline, beautiful floral embellishment at the bust and sleeves that gently draped off the shoulder. She added a pretty fingertip length veil trimmed in lace and carried a bouquet of mixed white and green blooms, including fluffy white ranunculus and fern curls. Her bridesmaids wore full length strapless gowns with ruched bust and empire waist in peridot, while Bucky and his groomsmen wore light khaki suits with white button downs and striped ties in peridot, white and hunter.

A variety of natural elements combined with florals, drapery and lanterns creating an enchanting atmosphere for the tented reception situated on the sprawling grounds of the Old Edwards Inn. The muted palette continued in the reception with the addition of a few colorful floral blooms in lavender, pink and light blue. Guest tables were draped in crisp white linens with moss colored runners and centerpieces in a variety of aged carved stone planters with fruits at its base and flickering candlelight in leaf and twine wrapped votives. White lanterns hung from the draped ceiling adding festive lighting over the dance floor, while the center pole of the tent wraped in branches and vines added to the natural organic feeling of the reception. Behind the Scenes: Cakes & Canapés

So this week started with me meeting cake maker Rosalind Miller. She’s been running Peggy’s Cupcakes for a while now but is launching her luxury wedding cake company Rosalind Miller Cakes at the Designer Wedding Show in a couple of weeks.

Rosalind is based quite locally to me in Forest Hill so I popped round for tea and cake. She made vanilla sponge, chocolate & cherry and lemon cake for me to try and they were all quite yummy (I had the lemon cake while there and then shared the other 2 with my husband and son, thought 3 in one day might be a little greedy!)

I’ll be posting photos form Rosalind’s cake collection next week, in the meantime here a are few sneak peaks I took.

I also visited 10-11 Carlton House for an evening of drinks and canapés. Owned by the British Academy (The National Academy for Humanities and Social Sciences-yes I originally thought it was the British Film Academy but no they’re just down the road) the two buildings have recently undergone a massive refurbishment where all the rooms were lovingly restored and the two buildings combined to make one great event space.

It’s a beautiful refurbishment with lots of lovely period details and it looked particularly charming on this evening with lots of tealights and flowers provided by Euphoric Flowers. There are a number of rooms to choose from and it would be a great space for a wedding if you want somewhere where you can create different looks for different parts of the day. There are also some stunning backdrops for photos too-quite frankly my little iPod photos could never do it justice so here are a couple from the website.
