Real Wedding ~ Shannon and Brian

Inspired by the 1940s era, Shannon and Brian's Houston, Texas wedding photographed by Kelly Hornberger Photography was filled with retro and vintage details designed in a striking rich palette palette of sunset hues and peacock blues. Shannon wore a beautiful strapless ball gown with classic sweetheart bodice and soft ethereal tulle skirt. She wore a pretty birdcage veil with feather fascinator from etsy seller Radokri and added a gorgeous pair of red peep toe pumps that matched her ruby red lipstick for a pop of color. Her bridesmaids wore vintage inspired fitted tea length gowns in peacock blue paired with black lined tights and feather fascinators to match, while the groomsmen wore black tuxedos and bowties. The ceremony took place at Height's Presbyterian where many of the guests dressed in the 1940s theme with men wearing suspenders and ladies wearing birdcage fascinators. Shannon's bridesmaids walked down the aisle carrying chic clutches from etsy seller Hayden J in lieu of the traditional bouquet, followed by two little flower girls in gold bubble hem dresses who each carried a pomander down the aisle made of a mixture of roses in sunset hues and adorned with peacock feathers. Shannon walked down the aisle with her father carrying a fabulous handmade bouquet of felt flowers and vintage buttons.

With the 1940s theme in full swing and a color palette inspired by the rich colors on a peacock feather the newly renovated downtown retro theatre, The Majestic Metro was the ideal venue for this vintage wedding. With its plush burgundy curtains and gorgeous gold accents the venue created a fabulous intimate atmosphere for guests. Shannon had her mothers old wedding dress on display as guests entered the reception space along with vintage photos of family members. Guest tables were named after famous 1940s actors and actresses with cool black and white photographs of each actor and actress sitting on the middle of each table. Shannon and Brian along with their family and friends kept the dance floor packed all night as they dance the night away to old retro tunes. After an incredible celebration the night finally ended with a bubble exit for the newlyweds followed by some amazing portraits of the bride and groom next to the ticket box and under the neon lights of the marquee.
