January heralds the start of the most beautiful fashion show on earth, the spring/summer Haute Couture shows. Designers Christian Dior, Chanel, Valentino, Elie Saab and Armani Prive lead a pack of designers who create the most exquisite gowns you will ever see, one off pieces that to buy would literally cost you an arm and a leg. Even though the percentage of people who buy these masterpieces is low, there's no reason why you can't take inspiration from these designers. Givenchy has given a new lease on life to the colour purple. It will be a very popular choice for red carpets this awards season. Elie Saab always creates spectacular jewelled and embellished pieces. His gowns just ooze femininity. I loved the use of yellow at Valentino. The perfect shade for spring/summer and a very popular colour for bridesmaids.
