Real Wedding ~ Dianna and Peter

With so many details packed into Dianna and Peter’s wedding day, we couldn't wait to share their DIY wedding photographed by Dixie Pixel. Dianna's parents have a family farm in Vonore, TN where Peter and Dianna chose to marry, designing an event in soft color with vintage country-chic appeal. Dianna wore a gorgeous ball gown custom-designed by Colleen Moore of White Orchid Bridal with floral detailing on the shoulder and a pretty waist-cinching belt. Her bridesmaids wore dresses in slate gray with mustard and black cardigans, while the groomsmen wore white button down shirts, black pants and ultra-cool fedoras. Peter opted for a slim, mod-ish suit in charcoal gray with a black tie, a fedora and gray and yellow argyle socks. The ceremony was held in an open pasture on the farm where two large pine trees formed a naturally framed entrance. Dianna carried a gathered bouquet of white and green wildflowers with large fuchsia dahlias, while her bridesmaids carried smaller versions in white and green, all created by The Flower Pot.

The tented reception was packed with Dianna's hand-crafted DIY details. Long family style tables were draped in white linens and set with natural wood chairs and squares of colorful fabric napkins in different patterns at each place setting, along with a sprig of lavender in remembrance of their grandparents. Dianna collected vintage blue mason jars from antique shops and used them as vases for arrangements of local farm-grown flowers. In lieu of a guestbook, guests wrote "advice cards" for the happy couple and created polaroid pictures that were hung from clothespins strung around the reception. Dianna created a variety of pretty chalkboard signs using chalkboard paint and vintage mirrors and frames. She also created all the pretty wedding papers, from the invitations to the ceremony programs. Don't miss any of the details, including the homemade ice cream bar from Luxe Catering featuring flavors such as wedding cake, cinnamon, pumpkin and Guinness.
